Keeping your drinking water free from contamination
Backflow prevention devices are all about keeping your drinking water clean – and free of contaminants.
There are many potential sources of water contamination, which can have serious consequences. Queensland legislation requires installation and annual inspection of backflow devices on properties that have any possibility of “cross-connection” within water pipes.
Backflow prevention device installation and inspections
If your property is required by law to have a backflow prevention device installed, or you’re unsure of your property’s hazard rating, Coolum plumbers TA Plumbing Solutions (TAPS) can assist. Get in touch today to find out more.
If your property has a medium or high hazard rating and you already have a testable backflow device installed, it’s required under legislation to undergo annual inspection and certification. TAPS can also carry out this process for you – utilising calibrated equipment and submitting all necessary paperwork to council.
Mandatory testing of backflow devices, or repairs to such devices, should only be carried out by a licensed plumber with backflow prevention endorsement on their licence.
